Membership Categories & Dues

Please note: MAPS Membership year runs from April-March. 

General Qualifications
Licensed physicians (M.D. or D.O.) practicing in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. All members receive discounted rates for MAPS events. MAPS Membership year runs from March-April.

Group Membership $360- $1,500

Group membership is offered to any program or practice renewing three or more Active Members. The group will be billed based on the number of members at a 20% discount on membership dues ($120 per Active Member).  Total dues will be capped at $1,500 per group regardless of the number of members. If you are interested in registering for group membership reach out to the MAPS office for assistance. 

Active Membership - $150
Active members are required to be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Active members are required to pay annual dues, have the right to vote at all meetings and are eligible to hold office in the Association.

Retired Membership $0
Retired members are required to be retired from an active practice of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. They are not required to pay annual dues and they are not permitted to vote or hold office. 

Candidate Membership $75
Candidate members are practicing Plastic Surgeons who are eligible to take the certification examination by the American Board of Plastic Surgery or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Candidate members are required to pay annual dues but are not permitted to vote or hold office.

Trainee Membership $0
Trainee members are Medical Students, Residents, and Fellows.

  • Medical students with an interest in Plastic Surgery are required to provide a letter of recommendation from an Active or Retired MAPS member. Students are not required to pay dues and are not permitted to vote or hold office. 
  • Residents/Fellows must be in an ABPS approved Plastic Surgery Residency Program or Fellowship. Members must request a letter from their residency Program Director for consideration of trainee membership privileges. Residents/Fellows are not required to pay dues and are not permitted to vote or hold office.
